Joe Anklam is our newest Volunteer Rock Star. Congratulations Joe!
For the past two years, Joe Anklam has done everything he can to ensure his students can succeed, including opening up his own classroom after the school day ends to be a part of the A+ After School Program in the Wautoma Area School District.
Every day, students can come to Mr. Anklam's classroom to complete their homework before they go home for the day or to get some one on one help in explaining subjects that they don't fully understand. No matter how long his day becomes, Joe works with as many students possible, encouraging them when they get frustrated and cheering them on when they succeed.
"I have known Mr. Anklam for three years now and see how much time he dedicates to education," said Dianna Parrott, site coordinator at the A+ After School Program. "He goes out of his way to help as many students as he can, often giving up his own time with compassion and dedication."
Way to go, Joe!
A+ After School provides academic enrichment opportunities for students in the Wautoma Area School District grades K-8. The primary goal of the program is to help students to meet state assessment standards in core academic areas such as reading and math. Additional goals are to offer a wide range of enrichment activities in academics as well as art, music, recreation, and youth development that are aligned with the regular school day and to offer parents of the registered A+ students opportunities for education, literacy, and family connection.
